Peter is declared bankrupt, and his family asks for a guardian
On 4 July 1850 the authorities of Igis decreed the call in bankruptcy, "den Conkursruf", over "den hiesigen Bürger Peter de N. Hegnauer", a citizen of the village: Peter, son of Nutt. The notice appeared in the cantonal gazette, the Amtsblatt des Kantons Graubünden. Seven weeks later a second notice followed, dated Igis, 21 August: "Auf Ansuchen der Familie des hiesigen Peter Hegnauer", at the request of his family, a guardian (Vogt), Ammann Richard Dolf, was set over Peter "sammt seiner Familie", together with his family. Peter was thirty-eight and had married Anna Berri in 1833. The notices go on: his under-age children were placed under supervision in January 1856, and new guardians were named for "Peter Hegnauer und dessen Familie" in 1859, 1861 and 1865. The later notices give no father's name, so they are probably, not certainly, this Peter.
