• Claims (paraphrase): Claude Alfred Wilson, b. 3 Nov 1881 at Robinson, Ark., eldest son of William Arch Wilson. He and his brother Ollie rode to Noel, Mo. to visit their father's brother "Lige" Wilson and family, then to Anderson, Mo., to visit their mother's sister Elmina Van Winkle. They later carried the mail for their uncle Richard Wilson between Springdale and Huntsville. Claud died of pneumonia on 12 Jan 1901, aged 19, and was buried at Yell Cemetery, Robinson.
• Value: this places Lige's family at Noel c.1899–1900 and names two brothers, William Arch and Richard. William fits the 1870 son William, 11; Richard fits Richard A., 15, in 1880. A derivative family history; lead only.

• This is the only record naming her parents, apart from Find a Grave's bio, which copies it. The informant is her son. Her father's name agrees with Ancestry's suggested "John Chandler Jr.", and her mother's with the 1870 census ("Jane") and 1880 census ("M. J.").

• FamilySearch 1930 (collection 1810731): surname Phillips, b. 1861–65 Missouri, spouse's given name Frank (162 results). The only one near her 1937 home is "F W Phillips", b. c.1864 Missouri, Harrisonville, Cass Co. (household not opened). This is a possible lead for Frank; unverified.

WikiTree: "Arkansas". No Missouri death certificate exists (statewide search). Keep "near Butler Creek" with the state unproven; Noel is the news-column town.
2. Elijah's burial. Butler Creek Cemetery, Sulphur Springs, Benton Co., Ark. (Find a Grave with a headstone photo; Sarah's burial there in 1937) against "Noel, Missouri" (McDonald Co. obituary index field; the Edwards member tree). Take Sulphur Springs.
3. Hour of death: 4 a.m. (Noel column) against about 2 a.m. (Butler Creek column).
4. Elijah's birthplace: Arkansas (1870, 1880, 1900, 1910) against "McDonald Co., Missouri" (James's 1941 certificate; informant a wife of four months). The county in Arkansas is unproven: FamilySearch says Benton Co.; his parents were in Benton Co. by 1870.
5. Elijah's father's middle name: "Richard S." (1880 index and image reading) against "Richard Alfred" (FamilySearch, member tree, Find a Grave index suggestion). Martha's age: 34 (1870) against 43 (1880 index). Richard's: 36 (1870) against 48 (1880).
6. Year of marriage: 21 Jul 1881 (licence and return) against "married 18 years" in 1900 and "28 years" in 1910 (both pointing to c.1882). The licence governs.
7. Sarah's children: 5 born / 5 living (1900) against 3 / 3 (1910 image reading). Five children are known by name. The 1910 figure is probably an error.
8. Sarah's given name: Sarah Ellen (death certificate; Find a Grave; tree) and "Ella" (1881, 1910, 1920, 1927) against FamilySearch's life sketch "Sarah Ann" (unsourced).
9. Sarah's age in 1920: 55 (b. c.1865) against 4 Mar 1863.
10. Sarah's birthplace: Crawford Co., Mo. (death certificate; 1870 residence) against "McDonald Co. Missouri" (James's certificate). FamilySearch refines it to Osage Twp., Crawford Co. (the 1870 residence).
11. Her brother in the household: "Robert Chadler", 43 (1900) and "James Chandler", 53 (1910) are one man, Robert James Chandler ("R. J.", 23, in 1880; FS KJHW-86S, 1857–1935). The ages disagree (b. c.1857 in 1900; c.1857 in 1910).
12. Sarah's father's death: FamilySearch gives 1862, "5 months" before her birth. The 1870 census shows the mother as head without a husband; the certificate gives only his name. The death date is unverified.
13. The FamilySearch marriage place of Elijah's parents ("1855, Benton, Saline, Arkansas") looks like a standardization error for Benton Co. Unverified.

Gaps

• Elijah's death record: none in Missouri. Look for Benton Co., Ark. records (none statewide before 1914), and for a McDonald Co. or Benton Co. probate or guardianship.
• The 1890s move from Benton Co., Ark., to McDonald Co., Mo. (c.1890–91), and the family at Noel c.1900 (Wilson Chronicles).
• Sarah, 1913–1936: 1930 census not found; Frank Phillips's identity, age, death and burial (before Jan 1937); how she came to be in West Dolan Twp., Cass Co. (a child living there?).
• Obituaries: Elijah's two death notices were found (Pineville Herald, 6 Dec 1912). No obituary for Sarah was found in two targeted Newspapers.com searches. Cass Co. papers (Harrisonville) and the Gravette, Ark., papers for Jan 1937 are the next places to look.
• Parents' passes: Richard (S./Alfred) Wilson and Martha, Tennessee-born, of Flint and Ball Twps., Benton Co., Ark.; John Chandler and Martha Jane Whitehead of Crawford Co., Mo. (m. 17 Oct 1850 per FamilySearch; unverified).
• The 1880 image of the Chandler household (Joplin) and the 1920 Gatton image were not viewed.
