Oscar Herman Hegnauer was born on 6 January 1895 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, the son of Jacob Rudolph Hegnauer and Caroline Seip. Censuses probably list him at Rochester from 1900 to 1930 and at Greece in 1940 and 1950. The Veterans Administration's master index lists him. On 17 May 1922 he married Myrtle Estelle Thompson in Monroe County. He registered for the draft at Greece on 25 April 1942. Oscar died on 11 March 1970 in Monroe County and was buried in Irondequoit Cemetery, Irondequoit.
