“Rites for City Treasurer Slated”

An obituary of Robert L. Hegnauer, 82, of 225 West Ramsey Street, Banning, California, the city's treasurer since 1960, who died on 14 December 1969. A native of Missouri and a retired schoolteacher, he had lived in Banning for eighteen years, and he had been a member of Doric Lodge No. 87, A.F. & A.M., of Wells, Minnesota, since 1915.

His funeral was set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 17 December, at Wiefels & Son Chapel, where friends could call from 3 to 9 p.m. on the day the notice appeared. Two ministers and San Gorgonio Lodge No. 668, F. & A.M., were to officiate, and he was to be buried in San Gorgonio Memorial Park beside his wife, Blanche, who had died on 20 January 1969.

He was survived by his son, Robert Jr., of Kelso, Washington; a stepson in San Antonio, Texas; two sisters-in-law, in Santa Ana and in Bemidji, Minnesota; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
