"Thomas Moore stole a bicycle from Fred Hegnauer, of 47 Murray street, … yesterday afternoon and tried to sell it to John Krembel, of 423 Clinton avenue north. Suspecting it was stolen Krembel telephoned the fourth precinct police but Moore saw Patrolman Post approaching and bolted. Moore ran through Ward street to Go[rham] … Post fired his revolver.
