Proceedings of Saturday, July 11, at Butler, Mo.

Nomination of a County Ticket and Election of Delegates to the Springfield Convention.

The Republicans of Bates County met in delegate convention at the Opera House in Butler, according to call of county committee.

The convention was called to order at 11 a. m. by Chairman F. V. Hamilton. J. K. Martin, of Rich Hill, was made temporary chairman, […]

The convention then proceeded to make the following nominations:

Sheriff—George McLaughlin, 106; Frank Martin, 23. McLaughlin's nomination was made unanimous.

Treasurer—W P Largeant, 41; J B Rucker, 92. Rucker's nomination was made unanimous.

W W Ross was nomintted for public administrator by acclamation.

J R Colton, of Deepwater, was nominated by acclamation for judge of the northern district.

For judge of southern district—John W Gengch, 68½; T D Day, 13½. Gengch's nomination was made unanimous. Being called upon for a speech, Mr. Gengch come forward and made a brief talk, accepting the nomination.

Haganour was nominated for representative by acclamation.

Surveyor—John Sanderson, 62; G C Gilbreath, 68. Gilbreath's nomination was made unanimous.
