Albert Gottlieb Hegnauer was born on 5 March 1870 in Switzerland, the son of Jacob Hegnauer and Verena Siegrist. He married Anna Maria Meyer. He probably arrived at New York on 2 April 1884. Censuses probably list him at Monroe, Orange County, New York, in 1900, at Gates, Monroe County, in 1910 and 1915 and at Rochester in 1920 and 1930. Between 1901 and 1912 the couple had four children in New York, among them Carl and Gertrude. Albert died on 12 April 1944 at Rochester and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester.
