"Untin" is best read as Nuttin/Nutin, a given name that belongs to the Igis family (Nutt, Nuttin). Nutt Hegnauer (H0381), eldest son of Peter (H0227), was born at Igis on 30 Mar 1834; his father went to America in 1872 and his youngest brother Christian (H0418) married in Cook County in 1884. Placed on H0381 as probable. Seven further Cook County entries with a secondary role name "Nutin", "Nathin", "Nestin", "N." and "D. N." Hegnauer (possible, same man); two name "Martin" and one "H." (unplaced).
• Clinton County: Verena Hegnauer, wife of Jacob Suter (US-IL-001): mother of the bride Philomina Suter, who married Hy Poehler at Carlyle on 30 Jan 1883 (O02793). Suter is a Swiss surname; Verena's origin and dates are unknown. Not linked to any line.
• Madison County (Highland, Grantfork): Leonhard and John (H0002, H0003) lived there 1866–1869 and the Hirschi, Kamm and Appel families connect the Missouri line to it; those records are in the person files. The separate Hagnauer family of Madison County (C. Evidence and conflicts

• The identification of Untin with Nutt rests on the rare given name, the exact birth year and the family's presence in Cook County (Christian's 1884 marriage). A Nutt Hegnauer born 1834 is otherwise unrecorded after 1867 (people/H0381.md). Conflict to test: an "N. Hegnauer", born 1836 in Switzerland, with a German-born wife Lena (born 1848) was at Leavenworth, Kansas, in 1880 (US-KS-001; Other states: Indiana, California, Texas, Wisconsin, Kansas, Florida, Rhode Island, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Montana, Nebraska, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Arizona and others); he could be the same man in a second marriage, or not.
• The Cook County entries with a secondary role may be index duplicates of the 1897 death (informant, burial permit) or the father named on children's deaths; the images are needed.
