Frederick Edward Hegnauer was born on 24 May 1893 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, the son of Jacob Rudolph Hegnauer and Caroline Seip. He married Elsie M. Felsman. He also married Doris McCormick. Censuses list him at Rochester in 1900, 1910 and 1920 and at State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, Erie County, in 1940. His son Frederic was born on 12 January 1922 at Buffalo. Frederick died on 22 May 1968 in Erie County and was buried in Hillcrest Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hamburg.
