"On November 28, 1858, he was married to Christina Herman, a daughter of Nicholas and Christina (Hegnauer) Herman, her birth taking place in Switzerland October 5, 1831. She came to America in 1854, her parents following her in 1856; the father was a contractor and builder. They settled in Outagamie county, where the mother died in 1863 and the father in 1878. Their family numbered ten children."; also concerns H1051
