Summary
Edward John Hegnauer was born on 13 August 1901 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, the son of John Henry Hegnauer and Lizzie Mather. He married Edythe Katherine Mottau. Records probably place him at Rochester in 1905 and 1910, at Gates in 1915, at Greece in 1920 and at Butte, Wallowa County, Oregon, in 1930, among other places. Four children are known, among them John; three are living. He registered for the draft at Portland, Multnomah County, on 14 February 1942. Edward died on 3 August 1961 at Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County, Ohio, and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls.
