“Passes Away at Age of 88”

An obituary of Mrs. Christina Krattley, born Christina Hegnauer, who died aged 88 at 8:35 on the morning of Monday, 8 January 1934, at her home at Krattley Crossing, on route 4, four miles south-west of Carthage, Missouri. She was born in Switzerland on 26 October 1845, had lived in America almost all her life and had been a resident of the neighbourhood for 61 years. Her husband, Sylvester Krattley, had died in May 1916.

Her funeral was set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 January, at the Knell Service Home, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. She was survived by six daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Blase of route 2, Mrs. Rosa Eliason of Carthage, Mrs. Alma Michel of Walnut, Kansas, Mrs. Flora Rose of Carterville, and Anna and Emma Krattley, who lived at home; by a son, Sylvester Krattley of Carthage route 4; by a brother, Christ Hegnauer of Metolius, Oregon; and by twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
