Johannes Hegnauer was baptised on 5 March 1786 at Elgg, canton Zürich, Switzerland, the son of Heinrich Hegnauer and A Barbara Trachssler. On 5 May 1850 he possibly married Anna Frei at Aawangen, canton Thurgau. He possibly died on 14 January 1851 at Elgg and was buried there on 19 January 1851. Their son Joh Heinrich was born on 26 June 1851 at Elgg.
