Anna Krattly was born on 12 August 1886 in Jasper County, Missouri, a daughter of Sylvester Krattly and Christina Hegnauer, Swiss-born farmers of Marion Township, Jasper County, Missouri.1 She never married (her death certificate calls her "never married"), and she spent her whole life on the family farm west of Carthage. She was at home at every census from 1900 to 1930, one of the three unmarried daughters remembered in her father's will of 1913, and at home at his death in 1916.2–5 She stands in the back row of a photograph of the whole family taken in front of the farmhouse in those years.6 After his death she lived with her widowed mother, her brother Sylvester and her sister Emma, and she and Emma were "at home" when their mother died in 1934.7–9

Anna died at the McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage on 18 September 1949, aged sixty-three. Emma gave the particulars for her death certificate, and she was buried on 20 September in Oak Hill Cemetery, where her parents lie.1, 10
