Bertha Kamm was born in Missouri early in 1903, the youngest child of Robert Kamm and Barbara Hegnauer; she was seven in April 1910 and sixteen in January 1920.1–2 By the time she was seven the family had moved from Pleasant Gap Township to a rented farm in Osage Township, just outside Rich Hill, Bates County, where her father later ran a dairy.1–2

Bertha was "Miss Bertha Kamm", still unmarried, when her mother died in January 1923 and when her father died in January 1934.3–4 Find a Grave calls her Bertha May Kamm States and gives her death in 1988.5

    She was 7 at the census of 22 Apr 1910 and 16 at the census of 13–14 Jan 1920; both ages fit only a birth between mid-January and 22 April 1903. Find a Grave gives 1903. She is not in the June 1900 household. The tree's "Abt. 1904" is corrected.
