Oscar W. Kamm was born in Missouri in June 1899, the youngest son of Robert Kamm and Barbara Hegnauer. When the census taker came to their rented farm in Pleasant Gap Township, Bates County, on 16 June 1900, he was eleven months old.1 About 1910 the family moved to Osage Township, just outside Rich Hill,2 where his father ran a dairy farm. In January 1920 Oscar, twenty, single, was its deliveryman.3

Oscar and his elder brother Robert stayed on at home. Both were "of the home address" when their mother died in January 1923, and both were still at home when their father died in January 1934.4–5 According to Find a Grave, Oscar died in 1980, and he lies in the Kamm family lot in Green Lawn Cemetery at Rich Hill, with his parents.6
