Life story
Robert John Kamm, called Robert J. in the 1900 census, was born in Missouri in March 1896, the elder son of Robert Kamm and Barbara Hegnauer, who were then farming in Pleasant Gap Township, Bates County.1 About 1910 the family moved to a rented farm in Osage Township, just outside Rich Hill,2 and there, in January 1920, Robert, twenty-three and single, was farming with his father, who ran a dairy.3
Robert and his younger brother Oscar stayed at home. They were "of the home address" when their mother died in January 1923, and still at home when their father died in January 1934.4–5 Find a Grave dates Robert's death to 1934 as well, and he lies in the Kamm family lot in Green Lawn Cemetery at Rich Hill, with his parents.6
