Life story
Anna Kamm was born on 20 February 1886 and died on 18 September 1895, aged nine. She was buried in the Reform Cemetery beside the German Reformed church north of Prairie City, in Pleasant Gap Township, Bates County, Missouri, under a tall pointed stone which, as the contributor to Find a Grave read it, calls her "Daughter of R & B Kamm".1
She was very probably a daughter of Robert Kamm and Barbara Hegnauer, who farmed in Pleasant Gap Township. Their eldest daughter, Maggie, had been born there in December 1883 and the next known child, Christina, in January 1889, so Anna fills the gap between them.2 In June 1900 Barbara told the census taker that she had borne seven children and that five were living.2–3 No record of Anna's birth or death other than her memorial has been found.

- Parentage (probable, not proven): Anna is known only from her Find a Grave memorial, whose inscription ("Daughter of R & B Kamm") is the contributor's reading of a stone that cannot be read in the photograph; the memorial's own text gives "Daughter of B & B Kamm", so even the initials are uncertain.1 The contributor linked her to Robert and Barbara Kamm, but that link is not independent evidence. For the parentage: her dates fit the gap between Maggie (Dec 1883) and Christina (Jan 1889); the cemetery lies in the township where Robert and Barbara lived in 1883 and 1900; no other Kamm couple with those initials is known there; and she accounts for one of the two children who had died by 1900 (7 born, 5 living) and whom the 1910 census still counts (8 born, 6 living).2, 3 See Barbara's profile for the full reckoning of the children.
