The extract adds Wilbur's 1918 muster-roll entries (O00304, O00306, O00308), his wife Ina M. Fisher (1894–1988, US-OH-001; NUMIDENT names her parents John W. Fisher and Kate Mengert) and their daughter Margery (born about 1925, US-OH-002; later Mrs. Koroknay).
  • Indiana and Minnesota: Wilbur married Frieda C. Hipp at La Porte, Indiana, on 9 Mar 1929 (people/H0423.md). Two children were born to Frieda at Chesterton, Porter Co.: Wilbur Morris Hegnauer (27 Mar 1929 – 1 May 1995) and Jacqueline Jean Hegnauer (1 Jan 1932 – 10 Nov 1999). Both NUMIDENT entries name the father as "William" Hegnauer (O02297, O02302, O03603), and Jacqueline's 1950 marriage index names "William Hegnauer" and "Freida Hipp" (O02553). Wilbur Morris moved to Minneapolis, married Mary Lorraine Glynn (1928–2023) and had three daughters, all living; he is buried at Fort Snelling.
  • Chicago: Peter's eldest son Nutt (H0381, born Igis 1834) is probably the "Untin Hegnauer", born 1834 in Switzerland, who died at Chicago on 8 Jul 1897 (see Illinois: Chicago (Cook County), Madison, Iroquois and Clinton Counties).
  • Minnesota (Schamann): Elsbeth Hegnauer (H0414), Mrs. John Schamann, is named as the mother of Leona Clewett in Leona's 1940 death record at St. Peter, Minnesota (O03578).

Conflicts

  • The father's given name: "William" (NUMIDENT ×2, Indiana marriage index) against Wilbur C. (the 1929 marriage). Either an indexing or informant error, or Frieda's children had a different father named William Hegnauer. No William Hegnauer is known in Indiana; the Rochester William Rudolf (1897–1958) was in New York. The link is left at probable.
  • Wilbur C. had married Ina M. Fisher in 1920; she is with him at Mansfield in 1940 and is named as his wife in his 1948 death record. Whether he divorced Ina before the 1929 Indiana marriage and later returned to her, or the Indiana marriage was irregular, is not known (people/H0423.md).
  • Ina's birth: 30 Jan 1894 (NUMIDENT, SSDI) against 30 Jul 1894 (Find a Grave, O04010).
