- Founder of the branch: Frederick Edward Hegnauer (24 May 1893 Rochester – 22 May 1968), son of Jacob Rudolph Hegnauer (born at Seengen, Aargau, 1859) and Caroline Seip. He is in his parents' household in 1900, 1910 and 1920 (O02973, O02886, O02943) and was in Buffalo by 18 Sep 1926, when he and Elsie appear together in the Erie County land index (O02412, O02411). His 1942 draft card gives his birth at Rochester on 24 May 1893 (O03939).
- "Frederick and Elsie": his wife Elsie M. Hegnauer (born about 1898, New York; died at Buffalo 21 Apr 1948) was née Felsman: the NUMIDENT entry of their son names his parents as Frederic Hegnauer and Elsie Felsman (O02318, O03611). She is therefore not Elsie C. Hegnauer, Frederick's first cousin (daughter of John Henry), who married Eugene F. West at Vancouver, Washington, in 1914 (O03243). The two Elsies are kept separate.
- Second wife (probable): Doris McCormick (6 Jul 1906 – 9 Feb 1972) appears with "Frederick E." in the Erie County land index in 1955 and in Cattaraugus County in 1960, and both are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg (O03987, O04002). She could instead have been the wife of Frederick Jr.; Sr. is preferred because the land entries continue his series and because of the joint burial place.
- One son: Frederic Elmer Hegnauer Jr. (12 Jan 1922 Buffalo – 17 Jul 1994). No wife or children of his appear in the extract.
- Origin and links: Seengen, Aargau, through his father (proven by the father's NUMIDENT). Not connected to any Igis line.
