Life story
Luzia Hegnauer was born at Igis, Graubünden, Switzerland, on 24 October 1859, the second child of Nutt Hegnauer and Anna Barbara Bühler, and was baptised on 30 October.1 She bore the name of her great-grandmother, Luzia Luzi, and of her aunt Luzia. She died on 16 November 1859, only three weeks old, and was buried three days later.2
