Life story
Charles H. Cook was born in Nebraska in February 1897, a son of James Harrison Cook and Adelaide M. (Addie) Haywood; the family tree gives his full name as Charles Heywood Cook, after his mother's family, and his birth at Julian on the 12th.1–2 In June 1900 "Chas. H.", three, was living at Julian, Nemaha County, with his parents, his brother Arthur, his sisters Lena, Hazel and Blanche, and the baby, Calixte.1
About 1911 his parents moved to Spokane, Washington. When his father died there in November 1919, Charles, twenty-two, was living, as was his eldest brother, John F., at Copeland, in the far north of Idaho.3 The family tree gives his death at Denver, Colorado, on 18 August 1964, without a source.2
