Life story
Lincoln Aubrey Cook was, according to the old family tree, a son of James Harrison Cook and Adelaide M. (Addie) Haywood, born at Julian, Nemaha County, Nebraska, on 13 May 1893, who died there on 9 February 1899, not yet six. The tree cites no record for him.1
The records of his family leave room for him. In June 1900, four months after the date the tree gives for his death, his mother told the census taker that she had borne seven children, of whom six were living; the six at home were born between 1888 and 1899, with a gap between Hazel (September 1891) and Blanche (March 1895) that a child born in 1893 would fill.2 When his father died in 1919, his obituary said that of their nine children all were living but one son.3

- Evidence: No record naming him has been read; his name and dates are the old tree's, copied from an Ancestry member tree.1 The 1900 census (one child of seven dead) and the 1919 obituary (one son dead) show that a son of the family died before June 1900, which fits the tree's Lincoln Aubrey, but neither names him.2, 3
- Leads: a gravestone in the Camp Creek cemetery (Otoe County), where his parents were buried, or in a cemetery at Julian; Nemaha County newspapers of February 1899; the 1895 or 1900 mortality or school records of Julian.
