Ramona Arlene Brown, called Arlene in the family, was a daughter of Troy F. Brown and Bertha Hegnauer, who had married at Butler, Bates County, Missouri, on 5 April 1905 and made their home at Appleton City, in St. Clair County.1–2 When her grandfather Martin Hegnauer died in March 1927, his obituary named among his survivors "two granddaughters, Arlene and Wilma Brown", and reported that "Mrs. Troy Brown and family of Appleton City" attended the funeral.2 Her sister was Wilma Elaine.
Her mother died at Appleton City in January 1956. Her mother's Find a Grave memorial names a child, Ramona Arlene Brown, whose own memorial is linked to it.3 When and where Arlene was born, and how her life went on, have not yet been found.
