Millie Mae Wilson was born on 22 April 1919 in Oklahoma, very probably on her parents' farm near Bernice, in Delaware County, the ninth child and youngest daughter of James Israel Wilson and Lucy M. Harris.1–3 When the census taker came in January 1920 Millie, not yet a year old, was the baby of nine children on the farm, with her brothers Cyril, Tulla, Floyd, Odis and Woodrow and her sisters Helen, Ruth and Jewel.3 A tenth child, Roy, was born the next year.
Grays Harbor
In the 1920s the family moved to Grays Harbor, on the coast of Washington, where Millie grew up. In April 1930, ten years old, she was living with her parents in a rented house at Junction, in Grays Harbor County.4 On 13 March 1936, at Montesano, the county seat, Millie, sixteen, married Joseph Henry Pearson. She was a student, and she signed the certificate "Millie Mae Wilson"; it names her father as J. I. Wilson and her mother as Lucy Harris, both born in Arkansas, and gives her own birthplace as Oklahoma.2
Millie stayed on Grays Harbor. When her brother Woodrow died in 1966 she was Mrs. Joe Pearson, of Aberdeen, one of his three surviving sisters.5 Aberdeen remained her home, and she died on 6 September 2008, at the age of eighty-nine.1

Probably near Bernice, where the family was farming. The day is from the SSDI; the family tree gives Missouri, and Oklahoma is preferred (see Research Notes).
The SSDI gives Millie M. Pearson, born 22 Apr 1919, of Aberdeen; her married name, Aberdeen and the date fit her (strong probable). Her ages fit it: under a year old in January 1920, 10 in April 1930 and 16 in March 1936; the marriage index's "about 1920" is only its arithmetic from her age. Her marriage record gives Oklahoma as her birthplace. The 1920 census gives Missouri, but it gives Missouri for every child, including her brother Woodrow, who was born in Oklahoma, and the family had been farming in Delaware County, Oklahoma, since before August 1917 and was still there in January 1920. Oklahoma is accepted and Missouri kept as an alternate.

Grays Harbor County certificate of marriage. She was 16, single, first marriage, born Oklahoma, a student; her father J. I. Wilson and her mother Lucy Harris, both born in Arkansas; she signed "Millie Mae Wilson". She was still Mrs. Joe Pearson, of Aberdeen, in 1966.
The bride's half of the certificate, read on the image on 27 Sep 2026, gives Millie Mae Wilson, 16, born Oklahoma, daughter of J. I. Wilson and Lucy Harris, both born in Arkansas, married at Montesano on 13 Mar 1936 to Joseph H. Pearson; her age, her parents and her Oklahoma birth identify her. Her brother Woodrow's obituary (1966) names her as his sister Mrs. Joe Pearson.

- Identity: "Millie M.", under 1, in 1920 and 10 in 1930 is the youngest daughter of James I. and Lucy M. Wilson (Willson).3, 4 Millie Mae Wilson, 16, born in Oklahoma, who married Joseph H. Pearson in 1936, is the daughter of J. I. Wilson and Lucy Harris (certificate read on the image; one index misreads the father as "J J Wilson" and another the mother's maiden name as "Harrison").2 Mrs. Joe Pearson of Aberdeen is a sister of Woodrow E. Wilson in 1966.5
- Birth date: 22 Apr 1919 from the SSDI, which the family tree also had without a source; the SSDI gives no birthplace.1
- Birth (conflict of place): Her marriage record gives Oklahoma; the 1920 census and the family tree give Missouri.2, 3 The 1920 census gives Missouri for all nine children, including Woodrow, who was born at Bernice, Oklahoma, in 1917; the family was farming in Delaware County from before August 1917 until at least January 1920, when she was a few months old. Oklahoma is accepted, and Missouri kept as an alternate. Her date is not in conflict: the marriage index's "about 1920" is its own calculation from her age, 16, and her ages in 1920, 1930 and 1936 all fit a birth between about April 1919 and January 1920. The SSDI's 22 Apr 1919 fits them.
