William Alfred Wilson was born in Arkansas in March 1886, the third child and second son of Elijah Daniel "Lige" Wilson and Sarah Ellen "Ella" Chandler.1 In 1900 "Wm. A.", 14, was living with his parents, his brother James and his sisters Nancy, Mattie and Bertha on a rented farm in Elk River Township, McDonald County, Missouri.1

By January 1937 he was living at Pittsburg, Kansas, and, as Alfred Wilson, he gave the particulars for his mother's death certificate when she died in Cass County, Missouri.2 Find a Grave records his death in 1972.3
