Elgg

Elsa Furer married Hans Hegnauer at Elgg, in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland, on 9 February 1556.1 Two of their children are recorded there: Regula, baptised on 21 May 1561, and Jörg, baptised on 11 August 1562.2–3

The parish in which her children were baptised took in, besides the little town, the villages of Hofstetten and Schottikon, parts of Bertschikon and Hagenbuch, and four villages across the border in the Thurgau.4 Nothing more is known of Elsa. Her own baptism has not been found, nor her death; the Elgg burial register survives only from 1591.5
