R. L. Hegnauer and wife of Wells, Minn., arrived in this city Saturday mornig for a ten day's visit with the former's parents, L. Hegnauer and wife and numerous friends. During the past year Mr. Hegnauer has been employed as instructor in Minnesota State Agricultural school. They visited Mrs. Hegnauer's relatives in Illinois prior to coming here.

Sunday, August 22, was a day long to be remembered by Mr. and Mrs. L. Hegnauer of this city, and their near relatives and a few friends. The day was most pleasantly spent at the country home of Chris Hegnauer in the Prairie City neighborhood, where Grandpa and Grandma Hegnauer formerly lived. A big reunion is held each year and this one was up to the usual standard and hospitality reigned supreme on every hand. It was a grand meeting of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two sons, Leonard, of Texas, and Robert, of Minnesota, were unable to be present on this historic occasion. Mrs. Chris Hegnauer and daughters did themselves proud in the preparation and serving of the most excellent dinner to that crowd of about sixty people and there was nothing lacking in quality or quantity of eatables. … Those present were: Martin Hegnauer and family of Rockville, Chris Hegnauer and family, Leonard Hegnauer Jr. and family, Fred Hammer and family, W. L. Hammer and family, J. M. Link and family, Walter Sweezy and family, Louis Steiner and family, Fred Stevener and family, Len Vogt and family, Mrs. A. Hammer of Rockville, Emma and Anna Kraettly, of Carthage, Miss Maggie Kenam [Kamm?] of Rich Hill, Mrs. Lou Wolf and Mr. and Mrs. L. Hegnauer of Appleton City.
