Life story
Johann Joseph Frick married Anna Hegnauer, a daughter of Peter Hegnauer and Anna Berri of Igis, Graubünden, Switzerland, in June 1865; the marriage was entered at Igis and at the neighbouring parish of Zizers.1 Their son Arnold was baptised at Igis a few days after the wedding and died the following winter, and their daughter Judith was baptised there on 11 December 1870.2–3
The family later went to America and settled at Burlington, Iowa. When Judith married William Fredrick Schaley there in May 1893, the record named her parents as John Frick and Anna Hegnauer.4 His own birth, emigration and death have not yet been found.
