Irene M. was a widow when, on 28 January 1950, she married Stanley Worek, thirty-nine, the eldest son of Martin Worek and Margaret Senkowska, Polish immigrants of Joliet, Illinois, at St. Thaddeus Church in Joliet; in the church's Latin index he is Stanislaus.1 Joliet remained Stanley's home; he died on 15 February 1995 and was buried in Resurrection Cemetery at Romeoville, and his Find a Grave memorial is linked to one for his wife, Irene M. Worek.2

Irene had died by November 2014, when the obituary of Stanley's youngest sister, Katherine (Worek) Jankola, listed "Stanley (late Irene) Worek" among those who had gone before her.3 Her maiden name, her first husband and her dates have not yet been found.
