Frank J. Bahor was born on 1 June 1914, according to the Social Security Death Index and a passenger list of 1945, as the old family tree cites them.1–2 He married Julia Theresa Worek, a Joliet-born daughter of the Polish immigrants Martin Worek and Margaret Senkowska; by September 1937, when she was twenty-two, the Social Security Administration knew her as Julia Theresa Bahor.3 On 4 June 1945 a Frank J. Bahor with his birth date landed at New York from Liverpool, perhaps a serviceman coming home from the war in Europe.2 On 14 April 1951 Julia was married to Frank in the Church, at St. Thaddeus in Joliet.4

They had at least one son, Dan Bahor, who died before 2014.5 Frank died on 30 June 1980, aged sixty-six; Julia lived until 2006.1, 3 When Julia's youngest sister, Katherine, died in 2014, her obituary named among those who had gone before her "Julia (late Frank) Bahor" and "one nephew, Dan Bahor".5

    No civil marriage record has been found. His wife was Julia Theresa Bahor to Social Security from September 1937. On 14 Apr 1951 Julia Worek married a groom named Frank at St. Thaddeus Church, Joliet (see the fact below).

    Her Social Security record lists her as Julia Theresa Bahor from Sep 1937; her sister Katherine's obituary calls her "Julia (late Frank) Bahor"; the 1951 church marriage index gives the groom's given name as Frank.

    St. Thaddeus (Catholic) Church, Joliet: Julia Worek, daughter of Martin Worek and Margaret "Sienkowski", and a groom named Frank (his surname is not in the index list read). Probably the church marriage (convalidation) of the Bahors' earlier marriage.

    The Catholic Diocese of Joliet index gives the marriage of Julia Worek to Frank on 14 Apr 1951; she had been Mrs. Bahor since 1937, so this is taken as a church marriage of the same couple. The register has not been read.

  • Identity (probable): The old tree identified Julia Worek's husband with the Frank J. Bahor of the SSDI; Katherine's obituary confirms that Julia's husband was named Frank and had died, and Bahor is a rare surname. The SSDI entry should be read (for his last residence, probably in the Joliet area) to confirm it.1, 5
  • Marriages: Julia was Mrs. Bahor with Social Security from Sep 1937; the St. Thaddeus index of 14 Apr 1951 gives her marriage to a Frank. This is probably the Church's blessing of a civil marriage of about 1937, but the register (and a Will County or Lake County, Indiana, civil marriage of about 1937) should be read.3, 4
