Prairie City Items.

Much needed and refreshing rains Saturday.

Wheat harvest has begun and will be finished this week.

There is a splendid prospect for an enormous corn crop thus far.

We have never seen the fields as clear of weeds as they are this year.

Miss Dellar of Rich Hill is visiting Miss Zula Masterson.

A large assembly, including the cornet band, were delightfully entertained by Mr. and Mrs. George Sunderwirth on last Sunday evening.

The cornet band has secured the contract to play for Appleton City on July 4.

Mr. and Mrs. Steiner entertained a number of friends and relatives Sunday.

A pleasant day was spent at the residence of Mr. Jacob Seelinger by quite a number of relatives on last Sunday.

Mrs. Louisa Schuman and baby were visiting Mrs. S's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bartz last week.

L. Hegenaur is now with the cornet band.

Dr. Harris has removed to Rockville.

Henry W. Hartman of Cole Grove, Cal., is an old time Prairie City boy. We knew him as an industrious young man, and wish him unlimited success in the far West.

The band festival was a success in every respect. The boys entertained their many guests royally. The Rich Valley band assisted materially and the evening passed most pleasantly.
