• What it is: a flat, polished dark-red granite double marker set in the ground among pine needles at Methodist Hill Cemetery, Metolius, Jefferson Co., Oregon (plots 29-30).

  HEGNAUER ELIZABETH CHRIS 1865 —— 1947 1851 —— 1935

• Assessment: a derivative witness (the stone was probably set after Elizabeth's death in 1947, by her family or estate). It gives years only. It supports the burial at Metolius and his use of the name "Chris". The memorial's exact birth date, 2 Feb 1851, is not on the stone and conflicts with the Igis baptism register and his death certificate (both 18 Feb 1851). Elizabeth's year here (1865) conflicts with her death certificate (3 Sep 1864) and the 1900 census (Sep 1864). Suitable to cite for Burial alongside the death certificate; not for the birth date.

Leonhard family portrait "from Beat Stadler" (already on H0003; context only)

• Described in H0003-member-media.md item 6 (MaggieOhio): the photo of Leonhard Hegnauer's family came "from Beat Stadler via Judy Yeo", and Leonhard is called "the brother-in-law of Elizabeth". This survey found that Christian's wife Elizabeth was a Stadler whose three sisters (Mrs. Joseph Marnach, Mrs. Marie Herboldt, Mrs. Joseph Rich) survived her in 1947 (Redmond Spokesman, 9 Jan 1947). That supports the reading that "Elizabeth" is Elizabeth (Stadler) Hegnauer and that the photo passed down in her Stadler family. Leonhard was her husband's brother, so "brother-in-law" fits. Beat Stadler is probably a Swiss relative of hers; not yet identified.
