William Robert Davies was born on 12 November 1925 at Aberdeen, on Grays Harbor, according to his line of the 1979 marriage record as the old family tree cites it.1 In January 1979 he married Helen Artlea (Wilson) Fulbright, then seventy, the eldest daughter of James Israel Wilson and Lucy M. Harris and long a resident of Aberdeen, whose first marriage, to Clarence Fulbright, had ended. Helen applied for the licence in Thurston County on 4 January, and they were married in Grays Harbor County on 13 January 1979; he was then fifty-three.2–3

Helen was Helen A. Davies for the rest of her life; she died on 30 March 1999.4 When and where William died has not been found.
