Life story
Glen Bertram Farnsworth was born on 13 July 1917 in Colorado, a son of Burton Farnsworth and Amy Nation.1 By 1950 he was living in Aberdeen, Washington, a married man running a planer in one of the town's mills; his first wife is not yet known.2 Mill work was his trade for the rest of his life: his death certificate gives his usual occupation as machine operator in a plywood mill.1
On 25 June 1977, in Grays Harbor County, Glen married Mary Ann (Worek) Evans, the widow of William D. Evans. They were almost exactly of an age, both born in the last years of the First World War.3–4 They lived at 812¼ Stewart Street in Aberdeen, where Mary had lived with William.1
Glen died at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen on 31 July 1988, at the age of seventy-one, of heart disease. His health had failed badly at the end: the certificate also records malnutrition and a blocked oesophagus. Mary was the informant for his death certificate.1 He was cremated at the Fern Hill Crematory on 2 August 1988, and his ashes lie in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, under the flat granite marker he shares with Mary, who died in 1994: "GLEN B. 1917 — 1988 HUSBAND & FATHER".1, 4

- Identity: His death certificate names his spouse as "Mary Worek", the maiden name of Mary Ann Worek, and the informant as Mary Farnsworth of his address, 812¼ Stewart Street, which was also Mary's address as Mrs. Evans in 1972 (see William D. Evans).1 The 1977 marriage index gives Glen B. Farnsworth and Mary A. Evans, and the two share a gravestone at Fern Hill.3, 4
- Name: Glen Bertram on the death certificate; Glen B. in the marriage index and on the gravestone.1, 3, 4 WikiTree (Farnsworth-3083) has "Glenn B" and FamilySearch (GSSM-T3M) "Glen Berton", which may be a confusion with his father's name, Burton; the certificate is followed here.
- Birth: 13 Jul 1917, Colorado, from his death certificate (informant his wife); WikiTree's "about 1920" is superseded.1 The Ancestry tree gives Dolores, Montezuma County, Colorado, without a source: a lead. The censuses of 1920–1940 (Colorado, with parents Burton and Amy) have not been searched.
- Earlier marriage and children: The 1950 census entry attached to him in the old family tree shows him married; his wife then is not named in what the tree recorded, and no earlier marriage record has been searched.2 The gravestone calls him "husband & father", so he had at least one child, probably of that earlier marriage; any children are presumed living and are not named.4
