Louis Burger is known to this study as the father of Berenice E. Burger, the Pierce County social worker who shared a home at Dash Point, Washington, with Lotta Donnell Hegnauer in 1950.1
In April 1930 Louis was living at Fullerton, the seat of Nance County, Nebraska, where the census taker recorded him as married and working as an agent. With him were his wife, Laura M., and their daughter Berenice, who was single and teaching school.2 Berenice had been born in Nebraska about 1904.1 When and where Louis was born, and when he died, have not yet been established from a record (see Research Notes).

His daughter Berenice's 1950 census entry was read on the image in the survey of Lotta Hegnauer's records. The family tree's birth and death dates for him have no source.
- Identity: He is identified by the 1930 census household at Fullerton, as attached in the family tree, which names his daughter Berenice E., a teacher.2 In 1950 Berenice E. Burger, never married, born in Nebraska about 1904, was a supervising social worker in Pierce County, Washington.1 No other record of Louis has been read.
- Birth and death (leads): The family tree gives his birth as 20 Feb 1863 at Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, and his death as 25 Aug 1943 at Fullerton, with no source on either fact.
