Life story
Emelia E. Arsenault was born about 1914 at Yakima, in central Washington, according to the index of her obituary.1 She married Tulla Daniel Wilson, a Missouri-born son of James Israel Wilson and Lucy M. Harris, whose family had moved to Grays Harbor, on the Washington coast, in the 1920s. Two family photographs of the couple are dated to the 1940s, one of them to 1944–1947; they had three sons (living).2–3
Tulla, a master sergeant who had served in the Second World War and in Korea, died in California in March 1977 and was buried in Willamette National Cemetery at Portland, Oregon.4 Emelia survived him by fourteen years. She died at Gladstone, just south of Portland, on 3 June 1991, and her obituary was printed in The Spokesman-Review at Spokane two days later.1, 3
