Life story
Moline
Rose E., whose maiden name is not yet known from a record, was born in Illinois on 27 September 1900.1–3 She married Lewis E. Putt, and their son Ralph was born in 1924. In 1930 the three of them were living at Moline, in Rock Island County, a manufacturing town on the Mississippi across the river from Davenport, Iowa, where Lewis worked as an electrician.2
They were still in Moline in 1935 and in April 1940, when Lewis was a millwright. By then Rose and Lewis had a daughter (living), born about 1932, as well as Ralph.3 Rose spent the rest of her life in the Quad Cities: her last home was at East Moline, and she died in April 1981, at the age of eighty.1
